About
fotodayz is run by Dorcas Eatch, a female photographer based in West Yorkshire. "I trained as a classical musician, been a computer programmer in the good old COBOL days, worked for the RSPB and the Essex Wildlife Trust; and have worked in B2B sales. Throughout my life there have been 4 strands interweaving in no particular order: Music. Playing and listening. I play the flute (sometimes), the tin whistle (more so as it's smaller), and the piano (rarely), and used to have a bassoon (which was great fun). Travel. I love it. I have a VW van which has already been to Shetland and the Outer Hebrides, Wales, and Scotland. She is called Yummy. Wildlife. Living in Kenya in the 70s had to one of the best times to experience the wildlife and the area. Nearly every holiday and weekend we could be seen in the family VW Samba drinking tea whilst watching a lion kill or the family of 5 cheetah we were 'keeping an eye on'. It was during this time we all had cameras and since then I always had an interest in photography. My main interests are wildlife, landscapes and macro within landscapes. My philosophy is to try and get it right within camera. And if that is not possible and I have to process and blend images, keep it as natural as possible. I am a member of the RPS. For wildlife shots I prefer to be in habitat but to everything whether wildlife or landscape or any other style - Light is always key!"
